Fabulous Fable Reader's Theater

We have spent the last few weeks learning about fables. After reading lots of examples and writing our own fable stories, we acted some out in our Reader's Theater!

Here are the groups designing their background: 

Spelling List 21

Prefixes are added to the beginning of a base word. It adds meaning to the base word.
· dis-, meaning “not”
· pre-, meaning “before”
· non-, meaning “not”
· over-, meaning “above or beyond”

Jonah screamed,”We played mat ball in gym and I won a candy bar!”
                                 
Kobe exclaimed, “I finally started my second quiz in AR.”
Reagan yelled, “I broke the record in Mat Ball by running two times in a row, nonstop.”
Genna yelled, “We had a hard lock down drill.”
MJ  whispered, “We are working on a new art project in Art class.”
Mari exclaimed, “We had our spelling test!”
Cody screamed, “Our Kinderbuddies came to our room this week.”
Jacob announced, “I shared at presentations today. I shared my awards.”
“We got to play with a parachute in gym on Tuesday!” exclaimed Amelia. “We  had a room search with our Kinderbuddies for their site words.”
Bethany announced, “We are doing a book report on VoiceThread.”
Shane yelled, “We did our fable plays.”

Courtney exclaimed, “We played a card game in math and it helped us with our multiplication facts!”

Austin yelled, “We get to vote on the next read aloud book!”

Isaiah announced, “We played mat ball in gym.”

Phing roared, “I earned my orange belt in Recorder Karate.”

Makenna whispered, “We are almost finished reading ‘Humphrey’.”

Friday update!

Jonah screamed, “We got our suckers from the sucker sale!”
Ella screeched, “we are making hearts on a string in art.”
Reagan cheered, “we’re learning parentheses in math!”

Genna yelled, “we watch a valentine movie.”

Cody yelled, “we had gym today!”

Amelia exclaimed, “we had Jacob’s birthday.”

Courtney cried, “we had our spelling test today!”

Austin said, “we did gymnastics in gym.”

Phing shouted, “We had valentine day party this week.”

Makenna exclaimed, “we had our timed math test.’’

March dates to remember-

Spelling List 20

List 20 contains words that end with -er or -le. In words with more than one syllable,

January Awards

Today was the 100th day of school! The whole school participated in 'Pajama Day' to celebrate!

 

Wow, 15 out of 20 students met their reading goal for last month! I'm so proud of you!

 Reagan*, Amelia*, Courtney, Phing* and Makenna* all received awards for having NO late work during the month of January.

 Ella, Aidren, Reagan*, Genna, MJ, Jacob, Shane, Courtney*, Phing*, Elijah, and Makenna* all received Above The Line awards for NO warnings during the month of January. 

And our students of the month were Phing and Courtney!!!! Congratulations! Keep up the good work.

This week we did our second and final round of the SRI testing. Parent-Teacher conferences continue for the rest of the week!

Finally February!

We hauled in the Macbook Airs and tried out Googledocs today. This meant that EVERYONE was typing on the same document at once! We did it to share what we did this week....

Kobe yelped, “We made paper heart owls today!”
Aidren said, “We made owls.”
Reagan exclaimed, “I came back this week from being sick YAY!”
Brett squealed, “We are making farms art in art class. yipee! We made owls in kinder buddies today!!”
Genna yelled, “We had a pizza party for AR. It was good.”
Mj whispered, “We are staring gymnastics.”
Mari whispered, “We worked on macbooks airs!”
