This Friday was the first day Weekly Reading Minutes are being sent home. This is homework, I repeat, THIS IS HOMEWORK! =] Students are asked to read at least 15 minutes a day, on their own time (outside of school) and record their minutes on the Weekly Reading Minutes sheet. This is a half sheet of blue paper. They will turn in their signed and completed minutes sheet and receive a new sheet EVERY Friday.
Each student will also have the opportunity to set a personal reading minutes goal. If they meet or exceed that goal for the month, they have a list of classroom rewards they get to choose from!
Our OUTRAGEOUS facts from this week were:
- A lizard sticks its tongue out to smell.
- Certain sharks walk on their fins underwater.
- Some moths drink the tears of elephants.
- Humans can make 10,000 different facial expressions.
- Every zebra's stripe pattern is different!
